Sioned Pritchard and Huw Ellis founded The Outdoor Centre after several seasons teaching on Llyn Padarn and in the Llanberis Pass. It is still a working course base, a drying room, a trailer of boats and a roster of local instructors who know when to change venue before the weather forces the point.

The Kit Room
A Drying Room Tells The Truth
Helmets, harnesses, buoyancy aids, paddles, kayaks, wetsuits and waterproof tops are checked, logged and dried properly. If you are borrowing wet shoes, ask for the blue crate marked odd 7s; it lives under the kettle shelf.

Insurance
The centre carries activity provider insurance and keeps records for private, open-course and group bookings.

Written risk assessments are backed by daily dynamic checks, because Llanberis weather does not care what was printed last month.

The lake, the pass and the slate edges are working places as well as brilliant venues. We park tidily, keep groups tight at roadside crags and leave space for local life to carry on around the course day.
